India Tiger Tour


14 Nights & 15 Days

Delhi – Jaipur – Ranthambore Tiger Reserve – Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra – Umaria – Bandhavgarh National Park – Khajuraho – Varanasi - Delhi

 
Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
On arrival at the airport in Delhi which is the capital city of India the representative of India Tiger Tour will escort you to the hotel for an overnight stay. It is located in northern India and lies on the banks of the River Yamuna. It is a cosmopolitan city owing to the migration of people from all over the country.

Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast you will proceed for a tour of Old and New Delhi where you can visit the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, India Gate, Parliament house, Humayun’s tomb, Safdarjung’s tomb, Qutub Minar and other famous monuments. The Red Fort is an impressive structure in red sandstone, built by Emperor Shah Jahan and the center of Mughal administration. Jama Masjid is a very famous mosque with typical Mughal architecture; this is also built by Shah Jahan the Mughal Emperor and is the biggest mosque of India.

India Gate is a war memorial dedicated to the Indian Army soldiers who died during the World War I which was built by the famous architect Edwin Lutyens. Parliament House is the highest office of Government of India and its building is an example of marvelous architecture of the colonial rule. Humayun’s Tomb is a memorial built by Haji Begum, wife of Humayun. Safdarjung’s Tomb is a mausoleum built in memory of Awadh’s Viceroy- Safdarjung. Qutub Minar is a magnificent tower built by Qutub -ud-din Aibak – the famous Turkish ruler of Mediveal India who founded the Slave dynasty during his rule of Delhi.

You can also enjoy a cycle or auto rickshaw ride from Jama Masjid to Chandni Chowk. Chandni Chowk is a popular and busy street of Old Delhi and has enjoyed the reputation of being a shopping destination since the Mughal Empire.

Day 03: Delhi - Jaipur (270 kms)
After breakfast we will travel to Jaipur also called as the pink city and is the capital of Rajasthan. One of the oldest city of Rajasthan , it has a rich heritage of art and culture .. After checking in at the hotel we will take a tour of the city and visit the massive City Palace, the Hawa Mahal and the Jantar Mantar after which we will retire for the night at the hotel. This city is famous for its historical forts. The City Palace of Jaipur is an imposing structure representing beautiful blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture.

Hawa Mahal is an impressive building, which was exclusively used by the Royal Rajasthani women to see the happenings on the road. The structure leaves you with a breath of fresh air amid the arid landscape of Rajasthan. Jantar Mantar, in Jaipur is one of the total five observatories that were built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh.

Day 04: Jaipur – Ranthambore (180 kms)
In the morning we travel to the Amer Fort which lies at a distance of 11 kms from Jaipur. The fort depicts Rajput architecture and has a number of famous structures in its complex such as the Diwan-e-Aam, Diwan-e-Khas, Sukh Niwas, Jai Mandir, Sheesh Mahal and more. In the afternoon we will drive down to Ranthambore and check in at a resort near the wildlife sanctuary.

Day 05: Ranthambore National Park
We spend the entire day at the Ranthambore National Park which is situated between the Aravalis and the Vindhyas and covered with lush green foliage. The Ranthambore National Park is the richest natural reserve in the state. The famous tiger reserve spread over 400 sq kms of forest land is a natural habitat for tigers and other wildlife.

The reserve was a popular hunting ground for the Maharajas and former rulers of Jaipur but now it is protected in order to preserve the wildlife population and hunting is strictly prohibited. This park was frequently visited by the Maharajas of Jaipur and is a house to wild animals such as the leopards, boars and tigers. The park also sometimes is visited by film crews.

Day 06: Ranthambore National Park
The next day is also spent at the national park viewing the wildlife which includes the blue bull, wild boar, spotted deer, cheetah, black buck, a large variety of birds and if you are lucky you may spot a leopard which is very rare.

Day 07: Ranthambore National Park / Bharatpur (200 kms)
After breakfast the India Tiger Tour will visit the Bharatpur National Park which has over 350 species of birds in its 29 sq kms of shallow lakes and woods of the park. The bird sanctuary shelters exotic species of birds.

Day 08: Bharatpur – Fatehpur Sikri – Agra (70kms)
After breakfast we will drive down to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri which is the ancient town of Agra and famous for its sculptures. It was the political capital of India's Mughal Empire under Akbar's reign, from 1571 until 1585, and was abandoned, due to lack of water. We will stay overnight at the hotel in Agra.

Day 09: Agra / Umaria
At dawn we will visit the famous Taj Mahal – a monument of love built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his loving wife Mumtaz Mahal . It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Besides the architecture there are gardens that are quintessential Mughal garden. In the afternoon we will leave by train to Umaria and spend the night traveling in the train. Umaria is famous for its coal-mines.

Day 10: Umaria – Bandhavgarh (35kms)
At Umaria the representative of India Tiger Tour will escort you to the forest resort situated close to the Bandhavgarh National Park. The park is well known for its tigers, especially the Royal Bengal Tigers. White Tigers are now a major attraction here, including other animals such as the Indian bison, leopards, porcupines, spotted deer’s, sloth bears, wild boars, sambhars and of course the tigers.

Day 11: Bandhavgarh National Park
The entire day is spent at the national park viewing the wildlife and the variety of flora and fauna of the park. And the night is spent at the resort.

Day 12: Bandhavgarh National Park
The India Tiger Tour arranges for jeep and elephant safaris to the National Park and we return to rest at the resort for the night.

Day 13: Bandhavgarh / Khajuraho (275 km)
After breakfast we drive down to Khajuraho and check in at the hotel. We later visit the legendary temples of Khajuraho built by the Chandela Rajputs in the 10th century dedicated to the Hindu Gods, and are famous for its erotic sculptures. The Khajuraho sculptures are now world famous among international travelers.

Day 14: Khajuraho – Varanasi
We leave for Varanasi by flight. In the afternoon we make a temple tour of the holy pilgrimage land which is also known as Kashi or Banaras. Varanansi is the essence of Hindu culture and spirituality. There are many indologists who frequent the city. We will then return to the hotel at Varanasi for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Varanasi / Delhi / Departure
In the morning we will be going for a boat cruise in the sacred river Ganga. Later in the afternoon India Tiger Tour and its members will be leaving the hotel to take the International flight back to Delhi.
