The people of the state like both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Rice is the main part of the food of the people which is mostly served along with dal and vegetable curry. Non-vegetarian items mostly comprise of chicken and mutton which is liked by most of the people. Some of the other items that are liked by the people are bhatt (a type of bean), dried ural dal, moong dal .
In some of the interior regions of the state the people are fond of high fiber containing Mundua and the Linguda. Most of the cuisines are cooked using the common mustard oil.
