Located opposite Lodhi Hotel in Delhi.
Consists of a square chamber surrounded by verandahs, which
are pierced by arched openings, while its roof is surmounted by
a dome pringing from an octagonal drum.
The dome is ornamented by vertical stripes of black marble and is crowned by a lotus-cresting.
The area around the tomb is regarded as sacred, with the result that a large number of persons, including those from the royalty, lie buried here.
Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Auliya (1238 - 3 April, 1325) also
known as Hazrat Nizamuddin, was a famous Sufi saint of the
Chishti Order in South Asia.
Recognized as one of the most popular place of worship.
Old Fort:-
Located 4km from Connaught Circus, South Delhi.
The walls of the fort are 18 meters high at some points and there are groups of holes arranged in patterns on the walls which were apparently meant to be nesting spaces for birds.
The Old Fort has three majestic gates: The Humayun Darwaza,
the Bara Darwaza, the Talaqi Darwaza.
The fort has an irregular octagonal shape .
Old Fort is evidence to the glory of the Mughal architecture.
The Purana Quila was built by Humayun in an attempt to build a
city of his own.
Old Fort is said to guard the ruins of the city of Indraprastha that is mentioned in the Mahabharata.
