Jammu & Kashmir is said to be the winter capital of India. It is India’s northernmost state and shares international border with Tibet and Pakistan. It contains three different cultural and topographic regions which are the Kashmir Valley, Jammu Region and Ladakh Region. The Ladakh Region is a mountainous desert terrain and covers almost two thirds of the territory from the east to the centre.

The best time to visit this state is during the months of March to October, because during this period, the climatic conditions are at their best. There are three seasons in this state - autumn from September to November,, summer from May till August and spring from March to May.
The gold and red hues of autumn, cool weather of summer and the blossoms of spring all offer the peak season for travelers to travel in this state. From the months of December to March is the winter season, when the entire valley wears a blanket of snow.
